Nagpur: A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her maternal uncle near a railway track in the Dipty Signal area in Kalamna on Saturday. Police said the accused convinced the minor, who lived with her maternal grandparents, of visiting her parents’ home with him to collect money owed to him. Instead, he allegedly took her to a secluded bushy area and sexually assaulted her.The crime came to light when two passers-by caught the accused in the act and alerted the girl’s family. The Kalamna police registered a case against the maternal uncle under relevant sections and launched a manhunt to apprehend him.The incident sparked public outrage and support for the survivor. Authorities urged anyone with information about the accused to come forward.
