Amritsar: Masked assailants allegedly opened fire at the residence of Kajal, a sitting councillor of the Aam Aadmi Party from ward number 7, in the Ratan Singh Chowk area of Amritsar late Friday night.According to preliminary information, the incident occurred around midnight, when unidentified attackers fired several rounds at the councillor’s house before fleeing the spot. The gunfire created panic among the residents.
Kajal’s family members were present inside the house at the time of the attack. However, no injuries were reported in the firing.Speaking to mediapersons, the councillor’s husband, Inderjit, said the incident appeared to be a result of a past dispute.Police officials reached the spot soon after the incident and launched an investigation.
