Mapusa: The probe into Friday’s stabbing at Nachinola has intensified, with the victim’s family, supporters and locals demanding the arrest of three suspects captured on CCTV.The main accused, Suraj Kasbe, is in police custody. The attack occurred near the Ganapati temple, leaving 25-year-old Manthan Agarwadekar with back injuries.Police arrested Kasbe soon after the incident, but the victim’s family held a late-night protest at the Mapusa police station on Monday. The family alleged that four men cornered Agarwadekar, snatched his phone, called in accomplices and stabbed him. The family has also demanded the recovery of the weapon.Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira has sought the transfer of the case to the crime branch, alleging the investigation is trying to portray a planned assault as a routine case to protect the accused.Further investigation, led by ASI Ajay Gaonkar, is under way to trace the suspects who remain at large.
