Ludhiana: A three-day training programme for enumerators and supervisors at the charge level commenced in the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana on Thursday. The training is being conducted by field trainers, who themselves were trained by master trainers. Across the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation, training is being held at 24 venues like DCM Presidency School and UPSC Jain School. In these 24 classes, a total of 1,200 participants are undergoing training in the first batch. Approximately 90 batches will be conducted in total in Municipal Corporation Ludhiana.The charge officers of the census charges are actively involved in the training and are personally visiting the venues where the sessions are being held. They highlight the digital tools like the House Listing Operation (HLO) app to be used by the enumerators in the field during the HLO operation in Punjab state, being conducted from May 15 to June 13. Before the HLO starts, citizens can enroll themselves on the Self-Enumeration portal.No Room for No-ShowsWhile interacting with the Principal Census Officer for Ludhiana Municipal Corporation, Neeru Katyal Gupta, and City Census Officer Vineet Kumar, it was stated that show-cause notices will be issued to staff members who do not attend the training. Strict action under Section 11 of the Census Act 1948, including disciplinary proceedings under Service Rules, will be initiated against those who fail to join.
