Mumbai: Maratha leader Manoj Jarange Patil‘s fast entered the fifth day on Wednesday even as the deadlock continues on the Maratha leader’s demand to give Kunbi (OBC) caste certificates to the Maratha community. Protestors from different parts of the state have started blocking roads to support Jarange Patil.

The Dhule-Solapur highway was blocked for more than two hours by protesters. They also blocked Dharashiv-Ausa road and occupied the road at Katraj Chowk in Pune. A Dharashiv bandh has been called by protestors on Thursday. Patil warned that on September 12 the stir will move from Antarvali Sarati village, where he is undertaking the fast, to Mumbai where thousands of Maratha protesters are likely to gather.

The Maratha leader has sought that the state government issue a government resolution, recognising 58 lakh Marathas as Kunbi caste, as per historical records.
