Lucknow: Kamla Kutir hosted a special Mango Feast on Sunday as part of its annual Mayan Mahotsav, bringing together horticulture experts, writers, historians and nature enthusiasts in a celebration that blended culture, sustainability and rural heritage.The event, hosted by former DG CRPF Anand Maheshwari, featured Padma Shri awardee and renowned horticulturist Kaleemullah Khan, popularly known as the ‘Mango Man’, storyteller Himanshu Bajpai and historian Ravi Bhatt.Guests tasted dozens of mango varieties while discussing the cultural and agricultural significance of the fruit.Organisers highlighted the use of green manure, vermicompost, water conservation and scientific orchard management practices that helped rejuvenate the soil and nurture healthy mango trees. Kaleemullah Khan inspected the orchard and praised its development and fruit quality.Storyteller Himanshu Bajpai captivated the audience with anecdotes centred around mangoes and Awadhi culture, adding a literary flavour to the gathering.
