MANGALURU: The Mangaluru City Traffic Police has issued an advisory after the NHAI decided to fix paver blocks on the affected stretch between KIOCL Junction and Kulur Arch Bridge. The rectification is being carried out from 8:00 PM on July 22 to 8:00 AM on July 25 on the approach to Kulur Arch Bridge.Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy said that the new Kuloor bridge from Mangaluru towards Udupi is being converted into a two-way road. As a result, traffic congestion is likely to increase between Kodikal Cross and KIOCL Junction, as well as between Panambur Junction and KIOCL Junction.Therefore, all vehicle drivers and the general public travelling from Mangaluru to Udupi via the new bridge near the KIOCL Junction are advised to drive cautiously and, during peak hours, avoid this route by using the alternative routes.All types of light vehicles and lorries travelling from Udupi towards Bengaluru and Mysuru are advised to take the Padubidri–Karkala–Moodbidri route. All light vehicles coming from Udupi/Mulki towards Mangaluru city should turn left near Vijaya Sannidhi in Mulki and proceed via Kinnigoli–Kateel–Bajpe–Maravoor–Kavoor towards Mangaluru.All light vehicles travelling from Mangaluru city/Kottara Chowki towards Udupi should proceed via Kavoor–Maravoor–Bajpe–Kateel–Kinnigoli–Mulki Vijaya Sannidhi towards Udupi.Lorries and light vehicles coming from BC Road, Bengaluru, and Mysuru towards Udupi should proceed via Bikarnakatte–Kulasekhara–Vamanjoor–Kakamba–Bajpe–Kateel–Kinnigoli–Mulki Vijaya Sannidhi towards Udupi.All types of gas tankers, diesel/petrol tankers, and other heavy vehicles arriving at or departing from companies such as MCF, ONGC, HPCL, BPCL, IOCL, Total Gas, BASF, Raftar, Aegis, and others are requested to use the Kuloor new bridge except during peak traffic hours, stated a release.
