Mangaluru: Mangaluru CCB team has arrested a person for allegedly supplying MDMA to the public and students in the city. City police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy said that acting on credible information that an individual was purchasing banned narcotic substance MDMA, and bringing it into the city to circulate it among the students, the team raided Kulaigudde area, Thursday and arrested the accused.The team seized 15 grams of MDMA worth approximately Rs 1,50,000, along with a mobile phone, zip-lock covers, and a digital weighing scale. The total value of the seized items is Rs 2,10,500. A case has been registered at the Surathkal police station.The accused, Annappa Swami alias Manu, 26, a resident of Eshwar Nagar, Idya, Kulai Hosabettu, Surathkal, has previous NDPS cases registered against him at Panambur and Bajpe police stations. There is also cases of assault and stone-pelting at a mosque, registered in Surathkal police station, and an attempted murder case at Ullal police station.The operation was carried out by the Mangalore City CCB unit. Search for others involved in this drug sale/supply network is ongoing, the commissioner said.
