Mandya: Mandya district administration has implemented a uniform system for issuing permanent resident certificates (PRCs) in accordance with the latest state govt guidelines, with DC Kumara directing all tahsildars and revenue officials to expedite the disposal of pending applications and ensure timely service to citizens. Chairing a review meeting, the DC instructed officials to process applications transparently and strictly as per the prescribed norms. New guidelines were introduced to bring uniformity, eliminate delays, and provide a simplified, citizen-friendly process for obtaining permanent resident certificates.Applicants can submit their requests through Atal Ji Janasnehi Kendras, Bapuji Seva Kendras, Grama One, Karnataka One, Common Service Centres or by applying online through the state govt portal. After receiving the applications, the Tahsildar, the designated competent authority, will verify the documents and issue the certificate without unnecessary delay.According to the revised guidelines, applicants must satisfy any of the prescribed eligibility conditions. These include being an ordinary resident of Karnataka for at least 10 years, being born in the state, having continuously lived or pursued education in Karnataka for 10 years, owning property in the state for a minimum of 10 years, or having served in Karnataka govt or a public sector undertaking for at least seven years. Individuals married to a PRC holder or to a person eligible for a PRC, as well as those qualifying through their parents or spouse under govt rules, are also eligible.Applicants must submit an affidavit in the prescribed format along with supporting documents such as a birth certificate, school records, proof of residence, property records, Aadhaar card, voter identity card, ration card, govt service certificate, marriage certificate or any other documents recognised by the govt.The DC directed all revenue officials to strictly adhere to the new guidelines and ensure that the certificate issuance process remains transparent, efficient and free from inconvenience to the public.
