Bengaluru: Amruthahalli police have arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with a house theft in Kempapura and recovered 100 grams of gold worth about Rs 15 lakh.The accused, Velpucharla Obul Reddy, is a resident of Kempapura and works as a labourer. He is a relative of the complainant Sumathi, who works as a baby caretaker and lives with her school-going children.According to the complaint filed on March 14, Sumathi discovered on the morning of March 11 that gold ornaments kept in a cupboard were missing. She told police she locks the house before leaving for work and keeps the key in a shoe rack. Police found that Reddy had visited the house when Sumathi’s son was present. He allegedly sent the child out to buy gobi manchurian and used the time to steal the ornaments. Reddy later sold the gold at jewellery shops in Chickpete and Ramamurthynagar. The accused was arrested on March 15. Police recovered 100 grams of gold from the jewellers.
