Thiruvananthapuram: A 24-year-old man was stabbed to death following a financial dispute over a bike sale in Kattakada late on Thursday night. The deceased has been identified as Rahul, a resident of Killi Elluvila Colony in Kattakada. Police have arrested Rahul A, 18, a native of Panayangode Odal Vilakath and Usman, 24, a native of Koniyoor currently residing on rent at Killi Mechira in connection with the case. According to police, the incident occurred around 10.30pm on the road opposite Neyyar Medicity Hospital, Killi. The dispute stemmed from a financial disagreement over a bike transaction. During the altercation, Usman allegedly stabbed Rahul on the left side of his rib with a sharp object, suspected to be a key. Police said that as the external injury appeared minor, Rahul reportedly did not seek immediate medical attention. Later as his condition worsened, locals rushed him to a nearby govt hospital and later to a private hospital in Kattakada, where he was given primary treatment, including CPR. Doctors there advised shifting him to Thiruvananthapuram medical college hospital. However, he was taken to Neyyar Medicity Hospital en route, after his condition deteriorated further. Doctors there declared him dead at 1.45am. Preliminary findings suggest internal bleeding led to his death. Police said the dispute originated after the accused Rahul had agreed to sell a bike for Rs 10,000 and received an advance of Rs 6,000 from the victim. The delay in payment of the remaining Rs 4,000 led to repeated phone calls and arguments, escalating into enmity.
