Vadodara: A man was stabbed and assaulted by six men in the city on Thursday. The victim, Sonu Sharma, was admitted to SSG Hospital with grievous wounds and is under treatment. Sharma told police that the accused attacked him over an old dispute.According to police, Sharma’s uncle had got into a quarrel with some men on Feb 11, after which he and his father went to the spot in Sayajigunj. A fight broke out between Sharma and the accused and the matter reached the police station. A compromise was struck later and Sharma thought the matter was resolved.However, he got a call from a woman who offered him a contract to make furniture at her home on Wednesday. She called him to Karelibaug, where he was assaulted by the accused on the road. A complaint alleging attempted murder was registered at Fatehgunj police station.Last month, a man named Hussain Zulfikar was stabbed to death by his long-time friend, Vishal Kahar, in public, near the old Panigate police station. Police said Kahar, 35, was arrested within hours of the killing. Zulfikar and Kahar had been friends for long but a rift emerged after Kahar began a relationship with Zulfikar’s estranged wife, even as their divorce proceedings were underway.
