Chennai: Three unidentified men stabbed a 29-year-old water can supplier and snatched his three-sovereign gold chain in a busy street in Zak Bazaar on Sunday.The victim, Anand, a resident of Damodharan Nagar in Vyasarpadi, was returning on his motorcycle after supplying water cans to shops in the Anna Salai area when the incident occurred.When he was passing through Oil Monger Street in Zam Bazaar, the trio intercepted him, stabbed him and snatched his chain before fleeing. He sustained minor injuries in the assault.The suspects escaped on a two-wheeler parked in a neighbouring street.Zam Bazaar police registered a case and launched a search for the suspects based on CCTV footage from the area.Police also suspect previous enmity behind the incident.
