In a tragic turn of events, 27-year-old Mintu Kumar’s life was cut short in Rachiyahi village, Begusarai, following a decades-old rivalry. Lured away by known associates, he was discovered lifeless in a nearby field. Authorities are probing the incident, with insights revealing Mintu had a tumultuous past and had only recently been released on bail.

Begusarai: A 27-year-old man was shot dead over an old enmity at Rachiyahi village under the Singhaul police station area in Begusarai district on Wednesday evening. The victim was identified as Mintu Kumar, a resident of the village.Mintu along with his brother Pintu Kumar had gone to a local vegetable market in the evening. While returning home, Mintu was allegedly called by one Kumar and three others. “I asked him not to go with them, but he didn’t listen. Later, around 11pm, we received a call informing us that he had been shot dead,” said Mintu’s brother, Pintu.Police later found Mintu’s body dumped in a field in the village. Begusarai SDPO-1 Anand Kumar Pandey said, “The case is being investigated from all possible angles. Efforts are being made to identify and arrest the accused. Mintu had criminal antecedents and had recently come out on bail earlier this month.”Meanwhile, family members alleged that the murder was linked to a previous case in which Mintu was a key witness. Pintu claimed that their elder brother had been killed by criminals around four years ago and that the accused in that case were pressuring Mintu not to depose against them. “Since he refused to give any assurance, they shot him dead and threw his body in a field,” he said.
