Nagpur: A 21-year-old resident of Yadav Nagar in Kamptee has been charged for allegedly sending obscene videos and messages to a 27-year-old staff nurse through social media, causing her mental distress.According to the complaint lodged at New Kamptee police station, the alleged incident took place between Aug 1 and Aug 8.The complainant stated that she was at her residence when the accused, identified as Priyanshu Yadav, sent a message on her social media account. The message allegedly contained two links that led to nude pornographic videos.Police said the accused also allegedly misused the complainant’s social media ID to forward the same obscene content to her friends. The woman told investigators that the unsolicited videos left her feeling unsafe, insecure and mentally disturbed.Based on her complaint, New Kamptee police registered a case against the accused under sections of Information Technology Act, along with Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.The accused has not been arrested so far. Police are currently examining the digital evidence, including the messages and links allegedly circulated by the accused, and are investigating the chain of communication as part of the ongoing probe.
