Times News Network Ludhiana: A resident of Sukhdev Nagar, Shimlapur was brutally attacked with swords and iron rods outside his house after he objected to a group of men allegedly creating a nuisance. The accused allegedly attacked the man and escaped, leaving him injured. A case has been registered. The victim has been identified as Varinder Singh. Daba police lodged an FIR against the accused on the statement of his wife, Satinder Kaur. The complainant said the incident took place around 8pm on March 21 outside their house. She said a group of five to six men were arguing and using expletives near their house when her husband, Varinder asked them to leave. The accused got offended and started arguing with Varinder. Thereafter, they allegedly attacked her husband with swords and iron rods. She said Varinder sustained a severe head injury and collapsed on the spot. With the help of neighbours, the woman rushed her husband to hospital.Investigating officer ASI Surinder Kumar said police have lodged an FIR under relevant sections of BNS against the accused, identified as Mani and Janu. He added that raids are on to nab the accused.
