Guwahati: A 32-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting two Chandmari police station constables and a driver while he was being taken for a medical exam in relation to a case registers against him for assaulting his mother.Police said multiple cases were registered against him at Chandmari PS for assaulting his mother.
The accused, identified as Manas Pratim Tamuli, is a resident of the city’s Pub-Sarania locality. He was being taken for a medical examination on Friday night as part of an ongoing investigation. However, while being escorted to the hospital, he allegedly attacked the occupants of the vehicle near the Guwahati Club area. A case has been registered against Manas at Latasil PS.On Saturday, DCP (central) Sambhavi Mishra said Manas allegedly assaulted his mother for allowing his father’s pace-maker surgery without his approval.
