Ahmedabad: A man, identified as Mohammed Shakil, was murdered in Vatva early on Thursday in what police called the outcome of a dispute between two families. The accused, Asif Sheikh, would allegedly use abusive language while passing by their block, leading to friction with the victim, police said.N K Vyas, assistant commissioner of police, J-Division, said the incident occurred around 2am on Thursday, in Shyama Prasad Mukherji Nagar. The accused has been arrested. He had confronted Shakil after harbouring resentment over a previous quarrel involving Shakil and the accused’s brother-in-law. The complainant stated that the confrontation escalated into a heated argument and assault in which Shakil was allegedly stabbed in the left thigh and struck on the head with a brick, leading to his death. tnn
