Ghaziabad: Police have arrested a 30-year-old man for strangling and killing his lover after she refused to live with his daughters. A mobile phone with a picture of the woman after she was killed was also found in his possession.ACP (Loni) Ram Kisan said on Thursday, police received a written complaint from the woman’s son that the accused, Pawan Kumar, had murdered his mother.According to police, Kumar and the woman, Sushila Devi, were natives of Muzaffarpur in Bihar. A few days ago, both of them had rented a house in Pooja Colony in Tronica City. Devi’s body was later found in the same house.A case of murder was registered and an investigation into the matter was initiated.“Kumar was tracked down and arrested. His mobile phone, which was used to click a picture of Devi’s dead body, was found too,” the ACP said.According to police, the accused said during interrogation that he began a relationship with Devi after his wife died. Devi and her younger daughter came to Ghaziabad with Kumar. Kumar’s daughters, aged seven and five years, were left with his sister.“However, the two had been insisting that he bring them to Ghaziabad so that they could live with him. But Sushila did not agree to this and the two had been having frequent fights over the issue,” the officer said.On the night of July 24, Kumar told Devi he had decided he would bring his daughters to live with him. A fight ensued between them and in the heat of the moment, Kumar strangled her. After she died, he panicked, latched the room from outside, locked the main gate and fled from the spot, the police said. Before leaving, he took a picture of her for remembrance, they added.
