Accident Could Have Been Avoided Had 2 Bihar Men Been Warned About Live Power Cable: EyewitnessesGurgaon: Two labourers were electrocuted in Faridabad while digging a pit, triggering panic in the neighbourhood on Friday.According to police, Manish and Shahenshah came in contact with an underground electricity cable. A case was registered against two persons for negligence.The accident took place outside a house in Sector 14. Manish, a resident of Sector-3, and Shahenshah, a resident of Sector-2, were engaged in an excavation work to connect a sewer line. Both men, who were from Bihar, died at the spot.Police spokesperson Yashpal Yadav said a case has been registered under BNS sections 106 (causing death due to negligence) and 3(5) (act done by several persons) against house owner Sushil Rajput and contractor Laxman on the complaint filed by the labourers’ family members.“Circumstances leading to the accident are being investigated. Bodies were handed to the family after autopsy,” the police spokesperson said.Three other labourers present at the site — Ram Rahisa, Suraj and Ratiram — alleged Rajput knew about the underground electricity line that passed through the area but failed to inform the workers before the excavation began. They told police that the accident could have been avoided had they been warned about the live power cable.
