Kollam: A 46-year-old man was killed by his younger brother during an altercation at their house in Convent Nagar, Eravipuram, on Thursday afternoon.According to police, the deceased Anilkumar and his brother Kenil, 44, who lived with their mother Jacintha frequently quarrelled. During the quarrel Kenil allegedly struck Anilkumar on the head with a piece of wood causing serious injuries. Neighbours rushed Anilkumar to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. Police said both men were undergoing treatment for mental health issues for the past several months and were known to become violent at times. Police said the incident occurred in a fit of rage. Anilkumar’s wife Catherine, works abroad, while Kenil is estranged from his wife. A case has been registered, and further investigation is under way. The body was shifted to Parippally Medical College for postmortem examination. “We have taken the accused into custody. He is currently being questioned, and his arrest will be recorded soon,” a police officer said.
