Amravati: A 44-year-old man was killed on the spot while his wife and eight-year-old son were critically injured after a speeding car rammed into their two-wheeler from behind on the Amravati-Akola highway near Loni on Thursday afternoon.The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Naushad Qureshi, a resident of Taj Nagar. His wife, Gulnaz Anjum Mohammad Naushad Qureshi, 35, and son, Mohammad Abdaan, are undergoing treatment.Police said Naushad Qureshi and his wife had gone to a madrasa at Soneri in the Loni area to pick up their son Abdaan. The accident occurred when the family was returning to Amravati. Local residents immediately carried out rescue efforts and rushed the injured mother-son duo to the hospital.
