Jaipur: A 22-year-old man was stabbed to death Thursday night in Didwana-Kuchaman district after a verbal altercation between two rival groups spiralled into violence during a reception dinner.Police have identified the deceased as Sarfaraz, a resident of Sujangarh area of the district. Police said the clash stemmed from an old rivalry between the two groups. Based on initial investigation, two boys have been apprehended, and police suspect both are minors.The incident occurred around 10.30 pm during a reception held at the residence of Pappu, a resident of Jaswantgarh. Youths also attended the function.According to police, an argument broke out between Sarfaraz and some youths present at the venue. The exchange quickly escalated into a physical brawl between the two sides.During the scuffle, one of the youths allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Sarfaraz. He was rushed to hospital in a blood-soaked condition, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.Police said four youths were involved in the attack. Two have been detained so far, while efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the remaining accused and establish who delivered the fatal blow.An FSL team has collected evidence from the scene, and the body has been kept at the mortuary for post-mortem.On Friday, family members staged a protest outside Ladnun Hospital mortuary and refused to accept the body, demanding the immediate arrest of all those involved. The deceased was engaged in a plastic tarpaulin business.
