Kolkata: The Sarsuna police initiated a murder investigation after the body of Bholanath Biswas (39) was recovered late on Friday night. According to cops, an anonymous telephonic tip-off around 10.55 pm alerted the local station to a man lying motionless near the western side of premises on Bagpota Road, 1st Bye Lane. They discovered Biswas in a pool of blood. He was rushed to Vidyasagar State General Hospital, where he was declaredbrought dead. On the basis of a formal statement by a local witness, the police registered a case under Sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Though several witnesses have been examined and seizures made from the spot, no arrests have been made as investigators look for a possible motive behind the targeted killing.In north Kolkata, Sushil Kumar Choubey (22), was allegedly stabbed by accused Ranjit Yadav after an altercation linked to an old rivalry around 12.10 on Friday near BT Road in Cossipore. A search has been launched to apprehend the accused.
