New Delhi: A 35-year-old man was injured after being struck by a Chinese manjha at the Maujpur red light in northeast Delhi Saturday. In a separate incident, police apprehended a man with 80 rims of banned manjha during a crackdown in northwest Delhi’s Begumpur.The injured man, Gaurav Sharma, is a resident of Ashok Mohalla. According to police, information was received from Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital regarding Sharma’s injuries caused by manjha. His medical examination is being conducted.Police are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas and questioning locals about the incident.Meanwhile, officers conducted a drive against the sale and use of banned manjha in Begumpur area. During the operation, Sandeep, a Begumpur resident, was apprehended in possession of the manjha.Police said the recovered manjha was seized and they are tracing its source. Cops are also checking whether Sandeep was supplying the string to others in the area.
