Mangaluru: Bantwal Rural police arrested a man for allegedly possessing and attempting to sell ganja. The accused is Prashanth alias Prasad,30, a resident of Meramajalu in Bantwal.He was found in possession of 180g of ganja. According to police, on Feb 19, acting on credible information that a person was illegally storing and selling banned narcotic substances at a deserted roadside location at Pakkalpade in Kodmanu village of Bantwal taluk, PSI Manjunath T of Bantwal Rural police station, along with his team, conducted a raid at the spot.

Police took the suspect into custody. During interrogation, he reportedly admitted that he procured ganja and came to the spot to sell it to customers. Upon inspection, police seized 180g of ganja from his possession. During questioning, the accused revealed that the ganja was allegedly supplied by Abdul Razak of Pallamajalu in Bantwal, with instructions to sell it to customers, police said.Police seized the ganja and the two-wheeler found in his possession. A case was registered at Bantwal Rural police station under Sections 8(C) read with 20(b)(ii)(A) of the NDPS. An investigation is ongoing.
