GURGAON: A 29-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sexually exploiting a woman for several years by threatening to circulate her intimate photos and videos.The accused, Abhishek Kumar Bairwa, was arrested by Sector 58 police on September 17 and sent to judicial custody after being produced before a court.According to police, the woman approached them with a complaint alleging that Bairwa had been forcing her to have physical relations against her will for several years. She alleged that he threatened to make her intimate photos and videos viral and also threatened to kill her if she refused.A case was registered at Sector 58 police station under relevant sections based on the complaint, following which an investigation was launched.Police said Bairwa and the woman had met at a fair in Rajasthan several years ago, where they exchanged phone numbers and subsequently began communicating. “During their interactions, Bairwa allegedly obtained her photographs and videos and later began using them to pressure her into physical relations,” a police officer said.According to investigators, he allegedly made an objectionable video of the woman and used it to blackmail her repeatedly. Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged sexual exploitation and the digital material involved in the case.The accused, a resident of Shivala in Rajasthan’s Sawai Madhopur district, was staying in Mayur Vihar, Delhi, police said.Police also alleged that Bairwa entered the woman’s house with the intention of sexually assaulting her. The circumstances surrounding the alleged trespass and the incidents of sexual assault are being investigated.A police spokesperson said the Sector 58 team acted promptly after receiving the woman’s complaint and arrested the accused. “The accused was arrested on September 17 and produced before the court, which sent him to judicial custody,” the spokesperson said.Police are examining the allegations, recording statements and verifying the digital evidence as part of the investigation.
