Kendrapada: A 38-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly attempting to sexually assault his 14-year-old daughter under the influence of alcohol in jagatsinghpur district. She has lodged a police complaint. Police said the girl was staying with her father for the past six months after her mother left him allegedly due to repeated abuse. The accused was produced in a local court on Thursday. His bail plea was rejected. The minor was produced before the child welfare committee (CWC) on Thursday, where her statement was recorded. The CWC placed her in a govt-run Swadhar Gruha for protection and care.
