Nagpur: Kuhi police of Nagpur rural on Wednesday arrested a 58-year-old Bhilgaon resident for allegedly performing black magic at a village crematorium and around a complainant’s house.Ramnaresh Vishwakarma, residing at Bhilgaon, was taken into custody on Sept 2 under Section 3(2) of the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act. He was remanded in police custody till Sept 3.The complaint was lodged by Prashant Balu Chacherkar (31) of Salwa in Kuhi taluka. After performing his father’s last rites, he visited the Salwa crematorium at 9 am on Aug 25 to collect the ashes.Chacherkar found a yellow-cloth doll tied with red and yellow threads, a bottle containing liquid, lemons, and incense sticks at the spot where the last rites were performed. Clothes, socks, a pair of shoes, threads and lemons were also recovered from a nearby mourning hall. The same evening, cut lemons were placed on all four sides of Chacherkar’s house.
