Chennai: Triplicane police arrested a 38-year-old man on Thursday for harassing a 19-year-old college student on a city bus. The incident occurred on bus route 32-B while the victim, a third-year undergraduate student, was travelling home after college. The accused, Ramu of Mannadi, boarded the bus at Pallavan Salai bus stop and sat next to the girl in a vacant seat. Shortly after the bus began moving, Ramu misbehaved with the student. When she attempted to get up and move away, he used abusive language and twisted her arm to force her back into her seat. After the student raised an alarm, the bus driver took the vehicle directly to Triplicane police station, where Ramu was arrested. Further investigation is underway.
