Bhubaneswar: A 55-year-old man was killed allegedly by his neighbour at Sri Sai Vihar under Mancheswar police station here on Saturday morning, over suspicion of being in an illicit relationship with the latter’s wife. Accused Nilakantha Mohanty, 45, was arrested soon after.Police said there was a long-simmering dispute between deceased Sushil Kumar Singh and the accused over the former’s alleged illicit relationship with Mohanty’s wife. “In a fit of rage, Mohanty took out a chopper knife and attacked Singh. He was taken to the hospital while profusely bleeding but doctors declared him brought dead,” a police officer said.He said Mohanty was arrested soon after getting the complaint, and the weapon used in the murder has been seized. The body of the deceased has been sent for postmortem.Police said further investigation is on to find out if others are involved and if there was any other provocation.
