Prayagraj: Sleuths of STF (Prayagraj unit) on Thursday arrested a man —Kasim Ahmed, a resident of Puramufti— for forging documents for scrapped trucks from various states. Kasim was the leader of the gang involved in altering chassis numbers and registration plates of stolen or financed trucks to sell them at high prices. Cops have also seized 12 forged number plates, two mobiles, one 16-wheels truck, one six-wheel ‘Ghora’ (without a number plate) and six forged registration documents. Kasim confessed that his gang used to steal trucks or using trucks with pending finance, transfer the NOC into their names, and created forged registration papers with the help of an RTO agent. tnn
