Pune: The Kalewadi police on Wednesday arrested a man (62) for allegedly bludgeoning his nephew (32) to death following a dispute over property around 2pm on the same day.The incident took place inside the suspect’s flat at Jivan Chowk in Kalewadi. The police identified the deceased as Ganesh Pakhare.The suspect, Sanjay Pakhare, was arrested under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Mayur, brother of the deceased, lodged a complaint with the Kalewadi police.An officer from the Kalewadi police said, according to the complainant, Sanjay frequently quarrelled with the family over the partition of property.“The complainant also alleged that the suspect believed his wife and children had left him because of the complainant and his brother. He was also upset after Ganesh secured a job,” the officer said.He added that on Wednesday afternoon, the suspect and Ganesh had a heated argument over the same issues. The suspect got enraged and attacked Ganesh with an iron rod, killing him on the spot. “Our investigation is underway,” the officer said.
