Vadodara: Anand local crime branch (LCB) arrested a man who had been absconding for nearly four years in connection with two burglary cases registered at Umreth police station.The accused, identified as Ajmelbhai Nabalbhai Mohiniya, a resident of Undar village in Dhanpur taluka of Dahod district, was arrested after the LCB received information that he was present at a petrol pump. Police detained him and interrogated about his alleged involvement in the burglary cases.According to police, Mohiniya was involved in a burglary incident reported on Umreth-Virpur Road in Feb 2022. He broke the lock of a house and stole gold and silver ornaments and cash worth around Rs 2.69 lakh. A case was registered at Umreth police station under Sections 454, 457 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).In another case, the accused targeted a house in Sarvamangala Society in Umreth, where he stole gold and silver ornaments and cash worth around Rs 3.56 lakh. A case was also registered under IPC Sections 454 and 380.Police said the accused was identified and traced following information gathered during their investigation. He was handed over to Umreth police for further investigation.
