Kanpur: Additional sessions judge court room- 11 Kanpur Nagar on Wednesday convicted one Ajay Prakash Awasthi for murder attempt and sentenced him to seven years rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 15,000.The presiding judge Subhash Singh acquitted Ajay from the charges of intentional insult and causing physically hurt. But punished him under section 307 IPC and under Arms Act. The judicial official also acquitted co accused Ravi Prakash from the charges of criminal intimidation.The presiding judge in his order observed that accused had caused four fatal injuries to victim Tara Chandra. The accused himself committed that he was drunk at the time of the incident.According to prosectuion complaint was lodged by one Ram Chandra at Naubasta police station on July 10, 2021. He claimed that his elder brother Tara Chandra was going to buy medicines when Ajay and his brother Ravi Prakash armed with shap edged weapon attacked him with sharp edged weapon. Ajay made several blows causing serios injuries to Tara CahndraThe ADGC stated that police arrested both Ajay and Ravi. Ravi was charged for intentional insult (504 IPC) .
