Bengaluru: A 27-year-old native of Tripura was found dead in his room in Ejipura Sunday after reportedly falling into depression following injuries sustained in his private parts during a fight with friends three to four months ago.The deceased, identified as Tapan Nath, was working in the beer manufacturing unit at a craft beer and international bar in Koramangala. His friends and family alleged doctors had informed Tapan that he had lost the ability to father children following an assault by his friends.Based on preliminary investigation, police said Tapan was found hanging in a room rented for the bar staff. The incident came to light at 11.30pm when one of his roommates found his body. Tapan did not report for work Sunday.His friends and brother told police Tapan partied with friends a few months ago when an argument broke out under the influence of alcohol. During the altercation, his friends allegedly assaulted him and struck him in his private parts, leaving him with severe injuries.Fearing embarrassment, Tapan chose not to inform his family about the incident and instead got himself treated at a hospital. Doctors treated his injuries, but he was reportedly informed later that the damage had affected his ability to father children. Tapan slipped into depression after learning about his condition, and unable to cope with the trauma, allegedly ended his life.A senior police officer said, “Tapan’s friends and family told us about his condition but we are not sure about it.
