Nagpur: A 38-year-old homemaker from Old Sneh Nagar was allegedly assaulted by her alcohol-addicted husband moments after she received a video call alert about his suicide threat on social media on Wednesday.The attack left her with fractures in her right shoulder. A similar assault had left her left shoulder fractured around seven days ago.As per the complaint filed on July 28 at Ranapratap Nagar police station, the woman had gone to pick up her daughter from school when her father-in-law called and informed her about a video on social media showing her 40-year-old husband in an attempt to hang himself.The woman rushed back to her home and saw her husband sitting on a chair. He then abused and beat her, the complaint stated.As per police, the couple used to fight frequently due to her husband’s drinking habit. Police have registered a case under relevant sections. The accused is currently in police custody. The woman is undergoing medical treatment.
