Kanpur: A 32-year-old man was found hanging inside his house in Ramnagar village under the Thathiya police station area of Kannauj on Tuesday morning, with his family alleging that it was a case of murder linked to a dispute that took place a fortnight ago.According to police, marks of a sharp weapon attack were found on the deceased’s neck, and a blood stained-knife was found in the room.The victim Ramesh’s wife, Sonwati, in a written complaint said that at around 1am, three people broke into the house and slit her husband’s throat with a knife while he was sleeping. She further alleged that the accused hung the body to stage the incident as a case of suicide. She said that the family members couldn’t hear the commotion at house due to the a DJ playing at neighbour’s house, during a wedding ceremony.The deceased’s eight-year-old son said that he saw three people inside the house at night, and their faces were covered. He alleged that the men took his father inside a room while beating. He further said that he didn’t raise an alarm out of fear.According to family members, a few hours before the incident, the deceased had gotten into an altercation during a wedding ceremony in the village. It is alleged that a dairy vehicle driver accused Ramesh of snatching Rs 10,000, because of which both sides came to blows.Police later reached the spot and after the matter was amicably resolved, the cops left.SP, Vinod Kumar Singh said, “We have called the dog squad and forensic team to the spot. The team has collected evidence from the scene. The body has been sent for post-mortem and further action will be taken on the basis of the written complaint.”
