Kanpur: A middle-aged man ended his life outside a closed bakery located 300 metres from Bajaria police station.The entire incident was captured in the CCTV installed at the shop. Late on Sunday evening, some local residents spotted the body and informed the police. Police informed the family and sent the body for post-mortem.Mustafa Alam alias Binnu (50), a resident of Lalganj Kotwali police station area in Raebareli, worked as a labourer in Kanpur for about 15 years and lived on the footpath. A bakery belonging to Ravishankar Jaiswal in Colonelganj near Bajaria police station was closed and his fridge was kept outside tied with a chain.On Sunday afternoon, Mustafa was sitting outside the shop and after some time he tied a gamchha to the chain fastened to the fridge and tightened the noose resulting in his death. Late in the evening, locals saw his body and informed Bajaria police.Police checked the footage from the CCTV installed at the shop in which the entire incident was captured. With the help of the diary found in Mustafa’s pocket, police informed his nephew Tanveer, a resident of Unnao.
