Vadodara: A resident of the Soma Talav area has filed a cheating complaint at Kapurai police station against two Rajasthan-based men, alleging that they cheated him of Rs 61 lakh by promising high returns on an investment in digital currency.According to the complaint filed by Natharam Chaudhary, the accused Dilip Chaudhary and Lalit Prajapati, first met him in Vadodara in 2023. They allegedly persuaded him to invest in a digital currency scheme, promising manifold returns.The accused told Chaudhary that an investment of Rs 65 lakh would yield returns of around Rs 2 crore. Trusting their claims, he transferred more than Rs 65 lakh to bank accounts provided by them.However, Chaudhary received no returns for nearly two years. When he demanded that his investment be returned, the accused paid him Rs 3.70 lakh but refused to refund the remaining amount.After failing to recover his money, Chaudhary approached the police and lodged a complaint against the two men.
