Madikeri: A man died in a road accident on the Hakathur-Maragodu road on Friday night.Bidrupane Somanna’s son Praveen, 31, of Kattemadu village, died on the spot, while the rest escaped unhurt and are undergoing treatment at the district hospital in Madikeri.The incident took place while Bidrupane family of Kattemadu village was coming to Madikeri to make preparations for a wedding to be held at Gowda Samaj on April 4 and 5.At Bakka, between Hakathur and Maragodu villages, the driver lost control of the car, which rolled five to six times on the road and fell into a nearby drain. Praveen, who was thrown out of the car, sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot.Locals Kariya, Ganesh, Vijay and Adarsh, a student from Davanagere, who were in the car, were injured. A case has been registered in this regard at the Madikeri rural police station. The deceased, Praveen, was unmarried and is survived by a brother, a sister and parents.
