Ahmedabad: A 42-year-old man died by suicide at his residence in the Ranip area of Ahmedabad, police said on Wednesday, adding that a handwritten note recovered from the scene has become a key part of the ongoing investigation.According to officials, the man, who was employed with a private company, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his bedroom on March 22. Family members alerted authorities, following which police reached the spot and initiated inquest proceedings.Investigators said the note left behind by the deceased contains allegations related to marital discord. In the note, the man reportedly raised concerns about his wife’s alleged extra-marital relationships and referred to ongoing disputes between them. Police clarified that these claims are being treated as statements made by the deceased and have not been independently verified.The note also mentions financial stress, with the man stating that he had spent a considerable amount of money in an effort to resolve personal differences. He further wrote that his wife had left the house with their children a few days before. An emotional message addressed to his children and other family members was also found in the note.Police officials said no conclusions have been drawn at this stage. “We are verifying the contents of the note and recording statements of family members. All angles, including the circumstances leading to the incident, are being examined,” an officer said.A case has been registered at Ranip police station, and further investigation was underway.
