Bhilwara: A man was found hanging and his wife dead on a bed at a relative’s house in Aamli Bardod village under Hamirgarh police station limits Monday, with police suspecting he first killed her and then died by suicide.Police identified the deceased as Kalu Jat, a resident of Banka Kheda, and his wife Durga. The incident took place at the house of Jagdish Jat in Aamli Bardod, where the couple wentto visit.Bhilwara Sadar DSP Nemichand said Hamirgarh police received information Monday morning that Kalu Jat died by suicide. A police team reached the spot and found him hanging from a ceiling fan, while Durga’s body was lying on the bed in the same room.Durga’s brother Jagdish lodged a report stating suspicion that Kalu first strangled Durga and attacked her with an iron fet before hanging himself using her odhni.Hamirgarh SHO Sunil Beda reached the scene with a police team. MOB and FSL teams were called in and collected evidence from the room.Police said the bodies were sent for post-mortem by a medical board and later handed over to family members. The couple’s mobile phones have been seized for technical analysis.DSP Nemichand said family members and villagers have prima facie indicated that Kalu was under stress due to financial hardship and family problems. Police said all angles are being examined and the exact cause will be established after investigation.
