Mapusa: A 26-year-old man from Pune died after allegedly stabbing himself during a minor dispute with his partner at their rented accommodation in Rai, Siolim, police said.Anjuna police identified the deceased as Rohit Jalgaonkar, who was staying with his Hyderabad-based female friend. The two were working from home.Preliminary inquiry revealed that the couple argued on Friday morning over an alleged relationship issue. During the altercation, Jalgaonkar allegedly picked up a kitchen knife and drove the knife into his abdomen while his partner was working on her computer, police said. On hearing screams, the landlord and nearby residents rushed in and took him to the Siolim primary health centre, where he was declared brought dead.Police conducted a panchanama, and the body was sent to GMC, Bambolim, for postmortem examination. Jalgaonkar’s partner has been detained for her statement. A case of unnatural death has been registered, and further investigation is under way under the supervision of PI Krishna Sinari.
