Panaji: Union home minister Amit Shah’s visit to Goa is expected to set the tone for the upcoming assembly elections, with BJP gearing up for an early push on strategy, organisation and messaging.With marathon meetings lined up with chief minister Pramod Sawant, the party’s core committee, ministers and MLAs, the focus is likely to be on taking stock of govt’s performance, tightening coordination within the ranks and sharpening the campaign roadmap.Shah will arrive in Goa on Saturday. He will hold a meeting on Sunday to understand the political situation in the state and guide the party members on how to win the elections.Besides holding party meetings, Shah will inaugurate the party’s new headquarters on Kadamba plateau. On Monday, the Union home minister will also attend a western zone council meeting and presidential colour award ceremony of Goa police.Shah’s two-day visit to the state is being seen as a signal that the central leadership wants the state unit to move from routine mobilisation to mission mode, with booth-level strengthening, cadre activation and messaging discipline expected to top the agenda.A senior core committee member said that Shah’s meetings will revolve around reviewing the performance, assessing the strength of the organisation at the mandal and booth levels.“The party’s electoral strategy has increasingly relied on micro-level planning, and the home minister’s presence typically accelerates coordination between govt and the party so that no stone is unturned to win the assembly elections,” the member said.Shah is also expected to hold closed-door interactions with elected representatives, senior members and key functionaries to take feedback on local issues and political undercurrents.“Such reviews often involve course corrections on public communication. A renewed thrust on beneficiary outreach, highlighting welfare delivery and central schemes, is likely to be part of the push to consolidate support while widening the party’s social coalition,” the member said.The visit carries significance for internal cohesion as well. “The message is expected to be that organisational unity and consistent ground presence must be maintained well ahead of the election year, not assembled at the last minute,” the member said.With the opposition expected to intensify its preparations, BJP appears determined to set the narrative early and avoid complacency, a political observer said.Shah’s arrival is being viewed as the moment the party’s election machinery shifts into high gear, laying the foundation for a sustained campaign that will run through 2026 and peak ahead of the Feb 2027 polls.The senior core committee member said that the emphasis will be on building a robust booth network, improving vote mobilisation in targeted segments and ensuring that the organisation remains election-ready across urban and rural constituencies alike.
