Ludhiana: The Ludhiana rural police on Thursday booked an unidentified driver for causing death due to negligence after a person burnt to death in his car after he reportedly lost balance of his vehicle . The accident took place on Thursday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as 38-year-old Gurpreet Singh of Chakkar village.The cops said Gurpreet worked at a computer shop in Jagraon and would go to his home in the village after completing his daily work. They added that on Wednesday he was returning home in a car that reportedly belonged to his employers.

The cops further said Gurpreet was driving on Jagraon Dalla road when he lost balance of the car after another vehicle that came in front abruptly. They added that because of losing balance, the car driven by Gurpreet rolled over and later caught fire.Sources said the deceased didn’t even get a chance to come out of the car and died inside it. They added that onlookers, after seeing the vehicle on fire, informed police and the fire department. They added that by the time, the police and fire brigade reached the spot, the car was mostly damaged and Gurpreet was badly burnt. They added that the police had the body to government hospital for post-mortem examination.Inspector Parminder Singh,SHO City Jagraon police station, said the police had registered case for causing death due to negligence against the driver of the unidentified vehicle and they were trying to identify the accused. Meanwhile, a neighbour of the deceased said Gurpreet was survived by wife and two sons, aged around three and seven years. He said that there was wave of grief in the village because of the death of Gurpreet Singh.
