Bathinda: The Mansa Sadar police has booked a man, Sachpreet Singh, for allegedly killing his 8-month- pregnant wife, Simranjit Kaur, at Thuthiawali village on Friday. Both Sachpreet Singh, 25, and Simranjit Kaur, 22, had a love marriage two years ago. It is learnt that Sachpreet suspected the character of his wife, and allegedly killed her by inflicting serious injuries on her neck with a knife. “A few days ago, Simranjit went to her parental home in Thuthiawali village for delivery, and Sachpreet too reached on Friday evening. While Simranjit Kaur had gone to the washroom, Sachpreet followed her and killed her. He later fled from the scene,” said the police.Acting on the complaint of the deceased ‘s father Sewak Singh, a case has been registered against Sachpreet at Mansa Sadar Police Station, and efforts are being made to arrest him.Mansa DSP Harjinder Singh Gill confirmed that a case has been registered.
