Jhansi: A hotel owner and his associates axed to death a 45-year-old man and critically injured his 65-year-old uncle on Friday past midnight. The accused are on the run.As per the details revealed by Esha, daughter of the deceased, her father Gouri Shankar Kushwaha was an electrician and lived near Pal Colony. The workers and the owner of nearby Shivani Hotel used to consume alcohol regularly and urinate near his house to which Gouri Shankar often objected as he used to hold religious functions at his home.About one year back, this objection resulted in a fight after which Gouri Shankar lodged a police complaint. After that the accused started having a grudge against Gauri Shankar. On Friday night, the electricity suddenly went off, after which Gouri Shankar along with his uncle Murari Lal went to the nearby powerhouse to enquire about power outage. While they were returning past midnight, hotel owner Anand Yadav, Chirag, Rinku, Saurabh along with a couple of unknown persons ambushed the victims and attacked them with an axe.Gauri Shankar and Murari somehow reached their home where Gouri Shankar collapsed on the lap of his wife who is eight months pregnant. Somehow Ambulance was called amidst hue and cry and both the victims were rushed to the Jhansi medical college where Gouri Shankar succumbed to his injuries while the condition of Murarilal is stated to be critical.SP City Preeti Singh said that a case has been lodged against the accused under relevant sections. Some people have been rounded up for interrogation while police are trying to apprehend the main accused.
