Udupi: Police on Tuesday arrested a man from Doddanagudde under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act.The accused, identified as Abdul Rauf,26, is from Udupi Town police station limits. The order was issued on Monday by the inspector general of police, Western Range, Mangaluru, based on a report submitted by the superintendent of police, Udupi district.Police said cases had been registered against the accused at Manipal police station, Udupi Town police station, and Soladevanahalli police station in connection with drug trafficking and sale, with one case registered at each station. In addition, two cases related to drug consumption had been registered against him at Manipal police station.According to police, the three cases related to drug trafficking and sale are currently under trial before the court, while the accused has already been convicted in the two drug consumption cases. Following his arrest, Abdul Rauf has been ordered to be sent to Vijayapura Central Prison.
