Times News NetworkKanpur: Police arrested a man on Tuesday for allegedly making an objectionable post on social media. The post went viral nearly two months after it was uploaded, the police said.ACP (Chakeri) Ashutosh Kumar Singh said the accused uploaded the post on June 27, hurting religious sentiments of a community, and deleted it shortly afterwards, but several people had already taken its screenshots.The ACP said police began investigating the viral screenshot and the post, and identified the youth as Zafar Alam Qureshi, a resident of Gaddiyan in Chakeri. The purpose of the post was to hurt religious sentiments and spread enmity among people. Despite the post being deleted, its screenshot was continuously circulated on social media platforms for the past four days, the police said.“Police had taken cognisance of the case of an objectionable post being made on social media under Chakeri police station limits with the intention of hurting religious sentiments and spreading enmity. Taking immediate action, the police have detained the person concerned, and necessary legal action is being taken on the basis of the evidence received”, the ACP said
